VIOLENCE AND DIGITAL ADDICTION" SYMPOSIUM IS GOING TO BE ORGANIZED BY AMAN CENTRE
on Wednesday 5th of December a seminar entitled "violence and digital addiction" symposium is going to be organized by Social Rehabilitation and Protection Center (AMAN), in co-operation with Behavioral Health Support Center, at City Center Rotana Hotel with the participation of a group of specialists and interested cadres in issues of children and childhood all over the Qatari society from the employees of the social organizations affiliated with Qatar Social Work Foundation and many authorities, ministries, centers and institutions of government, private and individuals.
This seminar is presented by Dr. Laila Shahrour Professor of Media and Social Psychology, and Dr. Bader Al-Mishaan Professor of Modern Media,
The seminar will discuss a number of important topics including family disintegration resulting from social alienation, Internet addiction within the family, children and technology violence, as well as the impact of digital addiction on social behavior.
The aim of the seminar is to promote social awareness by providing children with the necessary protection, awareness, and education of the World Wide Web dangers.
This cooperation between civil society organizations is in the interest of the family, the child, and their protection.
Mr. Mansour Al-Saadi, Executive Director of Social Rehabilitation and Protection Center (AMAN) stressed on the importance of the seminar topic, especially with the spread of the technological globalization threats that have invaded our homes and communities.
He stressed the importance of cooperation between Social Rehabilitation and Protection Center (AMAN), Behavioral Health Support Center to organize a seminar that addresses the important and influential issue in the current era of violence and digital addiction. He assured that the Center is interested in organizing such events in order to educate the child especially in light of the challenges that our children face today through violent electronic games that affect the child's behavior, and the implementation of the international conventions and charters related to the child and ratified by the State of Qatar.
